Cute in photos but that's about it
I had high hopes for this activity walker but could not be more disappointed by the poor quality of the product. First of all, as I assembled the product, the hardware kit was missing key elements. Gathre sent me another kit, but the piece that becomes the axle for the wheels would not actually fit through the hole that had been drilled, so I had to drill larger holes, and the particle board wheels themselves started to disintegrate. The bottom right bead maze element is so stiff that I can barely move it, let alone my 7-month-old daughter. The unit itself is also tough and stiff to move. All in all, my major takeaway is that the color palette is cute, but the functionality is very underwhelming.
The Cutest Walker!
We love this walker toy! We had no issues putting it together, fortunately. It is aesthetically pleasing and our son loved playing with it.
Defective and a hazard
We put this together according to the instructions and almost immediately one of the nuts that holds the wheel in place fell off. No matter how tight we’d screw it in (and in that case, the wheels would not move) — it would soon get loose and this small nut, which is a serious choking hazard, would fall off. It stressed me out immensely as my daughter is putting everything in her mouth. This is a defective and dangerous design, and wildly over priced. Do not buy and I wish the company would recall this to keep kids safe. I do like other Gathre products and was so disappointed with this one.
Seems sturdy - misleading/wrong directions
Like others mentioned, it’s nice and I love it aesthetically but not sure it’s worth the price yet. As another user mentioned, our instructions didn’t match the pieces/parts provided. We ended up with 4 extra screws. Not sure if they provided the wrong parts or if the instructions needed to be updated.
Not quite there yet
We love Gathre products! We received this as a gift for our 11-month old. For the price, though, we would expect this to be put together more easily. To echo other reviewers, ours arrived with some scratches in the paint, and the instructions did not match the screws we received for the wheels. With some trial and error and looking at the pictures online and on the box, we figured it out. But buyer beware! It’s more of a puzzle than you might think.
