You know those folks you admire from a distance for a while? @HaileyDevine is one of those. She is good to her very core and shines bright. Hailey and her husband make an amazing videographer team over at Something Devine. We were totally lucky to work together with them for #gathreaway on their last trip as a family of three. To go with that Hailey answered some awesome questions below that made our heart stir. So without further ado, here is lovely Hailey. Enjoy!

-Pretend we've never met and don't know anything about you. Wanna give us a little background about your life and maybe some fun things we might not know about you?
- Hey, I'm Hailey! I'm the baby of five kids, and grew up with a passion for film/video. I pretty much have my whole life documented since first grade -- that's when I first picked up a camera, and I haven't stopped since! I married my British sweetheart Brad in 2012, and we share the same passion for film -- He's the one who films the production, and I'm the one who edits the post-production. We make a pretty good team! We have a daughter, Lucy, and we are expecting our second baby this fall! Aside from filming and spending time as a family, I absolutely love to talk. There is something about a fun conversation that I just crave! Once you get me talking, I wont stop - So watch out if I'm calling you.... ;)
-Can you walk us through what a typical day in your life looks like?
-The crazy part about what we do, is that every day is totally different... We're usually flying by the seat of our pants. ;) However on a typical day, we wake up and eat a big breakfast together as a family. It's my favorite time to unplug, pray together, and talk about our goals for the day. It helps get our day off to a good start!
-We all have gifts. You have a gift to gather _______. What would that be?
-Memories. I don't know if it's because of my journal writing, but I remember the details of the craziest things! I also say 'memories' because I think video is the best way of gathering memories and reliving them. :)

-Hailey, you're crazy talented behind the lens as a videographer. What's your favorite and least favorite part about videography?
-Aw, well thank you! That's a tough question... My least favorite part is probably the frustration that happens when I hit a creative wall. Either coming up with a video concept, or having trouble finding that perfect song for the edit -- It's like 'Writers Block' for a videographer! I can easily get wrapped up and frustrated with my creative capabilities. HOWEVER, my favorite parts are being able to spend so much time with my family (working from home AND with my spouse), meeting so many interesting people around the world, and watching the magic happen when putting an edit together to the perfect song. I'm such a nerd, but I sometimes get goosebumps as I'm editing!

-#gathrelove. You and Bradl have an admirable marriage and also work together. Any ideas on how you guys strengthen your relationship? Or how you make the husband/wife team work?
-We've been working together for four years now, and we are still learning! Everyday is honestly a work in progress. We give a giant high-five (or kiss) if a workday goes by that we don't have a disagreement. If I've learned anything, it's that it's important to remember how emotionally invested your spouse can be to a project (that's usually me, hehe.), and to be sensitive to that! Also, there's more than just one way to complete a project, so be open minded to your spouses ideas too. There have been so many times that I've gone into a project thinking "It's my way, or the highway", but after giving Brad's "way" a try... His way of completing the project was way better than mine!

-You probably get asked this a lot, but what tips would you give the average Jane, like us, to be able to shoot better footage for their everyday life?
-Try to capture candid moments! Something I try to avoid is saying "Hey! I'm recording!" because most likely, that person is going to freeze up. Also, purchase a hard drive and keep your footage really well organized -- you'll thank yourself later!

-It's the age old question, but we just gotta ask it: how do you juggle family life and work?
-Luckily Brad and I both work at home, so we take turns playing with Lucy and editing/working. Brad's honestly the better mother than I am. ;) We also set a certain time of the day, that we shut everything off. We stop checking emails & talking about work related stuff to spend a couple solid hours as a family.

-You guys have been around the world:) Is there something all have your travels have taught you?
-Patience! Things don't always go as planned, and you just gotta roll with the punches. ;)

-#gathreaway. Where is the next destination spot you're dying to visit?
-New Zealand or Iceland! We're also wanting to explore the states, more. :)

-Life is hard. Could you share one challenge or difficulty you're proud of overcoming?
-Yes! And I would say it is working as a husband/wife team. Honestly, at the beginning I didn't think it was going to work -- we've gone through countless hurdles to get to where we are today. :)

-Lastly, we love hearing people talk about their dreams. What are some of your biggest and littlest hopes and aspirations in life?
This may sound silly, and I don't share this often (or at all)... But my dream is to leave some kind of goodness in the world. Especially with all of the self criticism and unrealistic "goals" on social media. If one persons perspective is shifted, or they simply smile after watching one of our videos... Then my job will be done. :)
