When Food Network's Kelsey Nixon was living in New York City, cooking a traditional Sunday family dinner was simply too much of a pain. So she and some friends came up with a solution: weekly potlucked picnics in Central Park.
Everyone brought something. No one slaved away in the kitchen. And the world's first Picnic Club was born.
On National Picnic Day, we're teaming up with Kelsey to bring you our very own Picnic Club - a simple recipe series to give you one more reason to gather with your family or friends.
THIS MONTH'S MENU:
We're starting off simple, with a variety of throw-it-together snack boards that work surprisingly well for dinner. Pick one favorite, or divide them all up between each member of your Club.
Want to fancy-up your picnic? Try this Pressed Picnic Sandwich with Roasted Red Pepper and Pepperoncini Spread. We're salivating just typing about it.
There's never been a better reason (or easier way) to get outside and gather. So happy National Picnic Day - we hope it finds you at the park, potlucking with the people (& food) you love most.
